In 2010 was a great Black Stork (BS) ringing trip - across Germany. The priority areas were within the "Rhön" (Bavaria, Hesse and Thuringia), inside the "Fraconian Forest" in Bavaria and in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The map shows the 61 ringing places between 2005 till 2010 in total 399 ringed young BS in Germany (Colour-ring Project).
In the Hessian Rhön regulary ringed three or four vital young BS in the compact nests. An extensive river (creek) network offers excellent conditions for such good or very good reproduction results.
